RIP JWP

He wasn't there; oh not by choice,
I used to dream he'd hear my voice,
Crying for him and missing my right,
To daily have a father bid me goodnight.

He wasn't there, but I was with him,
Every day, his memory never went dim,
He lived in hope for the ring of the phone,
He lived out his days alone; so alone.

He wasn't there, but then we found,
Each other, and some common ground.
He was there, now anew, he was mine,
There was no making up for lost time...

Oh now he's gone, he's no longer there,
I go back to the loss of ribbons in my hair-
The loss to this world is great, oh my heart,
You are dearly missed, Dad, so soon to depart.

RIP JWP.
